The Summary of EVA Safety Laminated Glass Interlayer Film Developing and Applications

Based on the research, producing and applications of CNC Glass Interlayer, I would like to share my ideas of EVA safety laminated glass interlayer.

Approximately speaking, since 2000, EVA Interlayer Film is emerged in China building glass market. Growing very fast because of huge demand in building materials. At the beginning, the EVA interlayer film is applied in indoor environment, like portrayed single glass lamination, laminated glass with decoration inserts. Then, due to the formula modification for may generations, the EVA interlayer film can be used on outdoor environment, because of the good properties UV blocking and aging resistance.
At the time I am writing this post, the EVA interlayer film is widely applied in outdoor building glass, automotive glass, curtain wall, skywalk, etc.

In China, there are more than 3000 laminators of EVA interlayer film glass laminating. Because of the low cost of building the laminating machine of EVA film glazing, many glaziers choose the EVA interlayer film rather than PVB interlayer film.
The EVA interlayer film laminating machine is modified in big progress. The type of EVA interlayer film has been developed, for example, color transparent EVA film, sandblasting color EVA film, milky white EVA film, cool jade white EVA film, arctic snow white EVA film, black opaque EVA film, EVA film with heat control, EVA film with sound control, and other functional EVA film, the progress has never stopped. The market demand for EVA film is bigger and bigger, and more and more diversifying.

In 2008, EVA interlayer film has made many milestones, following are the 4 key points:

1-Many glass workers start to use EVA interlayer film laminated glass to replace the PVB interlayer film laminated glass.
The safety, security, UV resistance, and aging resistance of EVA interlayer film laminated glass has been recognized.

2-The applications of EVA interlayer film laminated glass has been diversified. First, the EVA interlayer film laminated glass is only applied in indoor decoration, then the EVA interlayer film safety laminated glass is applied in outdoor building glass, and then in automotive glass, then in Smart glass lamination, touch panel lamination etc.

3-Because of the good quality and strong properties of EVA interlayer film, the made in China EVA interlayer film has exported to European market, the South America market, etc. The made in China EVA interlayer film has taken market share from old brand like BRIDGESTONE, SEKISUI. 4-The producing level of EVA interlayer film has been increased. CNC Glass Interlayer built completely insulated dustless purified producing warehouse in 2009, then we have 3 high advanced producing line to guarantee the good mixing of the formula of the additives and producing the first level quality EVA interlayer film.

Super Clear EVA Interlayer Film for Outdoor Applications
In China, the Architectural safety laminated glass interlayer film should pass the National Standard: GB15763.3-2009.
There are the details requirements of the safety laminated glass interlayer film that can be applied in outdoor environment.
1-Super transparent.
2-Cross link rate, which determines the water resistance, aging resistance, delamination resistance. The safety laminated glass that can be applied in outdoor environment, the cross-link rate must be more than 50%.
3-The EVA Interlayer Film should reduce haze as much as possible.
4-The UV(280nm-400nm wavelength) radiation blocking rate should be more than 98%, this will affect the useful life of the the EVA interlayer film laminated glass. The UV blocking also give the EVA safety laminated glass the power to protect the human being from the harmful UV light. The UV light (280nm-400nm wavelength) contains more energy so it may breaks the link of the EVA composition. The EVA film made by CNC Glass Interlayer can block 99% UV radiations.
5-The adhesive strength to glass surface determines the safety and security of the laminated glass.
