Today i still like to talk about the cautions of processing laminated glass with EVA FILM.

And today’s topic is self-exposing. Yes as you remembered, i have talk about this in The Problems of Laminating Glass with EVA FILM.

They are:

1) The laminated glass is cooling too fast. Please do not open the oven door to help cooling after the temperature of the laminated glass is lower than 75 degrees.

2) Please avoid the hot laminated glass touching the cold water.

3) Put some wood blocks between the laminated glasses to make the cooling is well-proportioned.

But today I want add some more.

The following situations also would cause self-exposing of laminated glass with EVA FILM.

4.) The quality of the glass is not good, which are easy to expose.

5.) The EVA FILMs are not eliminated the internal stress. Good quality EVA Film will be eliminated the internal stress make the EVA film less contracting.

If the EVA Film are not eliminated the internal stress, then when laminating the glass with EVA Film, the EVA Film’s internal stress would try to contract to its original state and expose the laminated glass.

6.) The silicon bag is not clean, which means maybe some block inside the silicon bag. So when the pre- laminated glass on the block and vacuuming is working, the pressure would break the laminated glass.

I wrote an article Bubbles Solution for Laminated Class with EVA Film, and yesterday I wrote an article Bubbles Problems of Laminating Glass with EVA Film (1) .

Now we are going to continue the topic.

If you face the laminated glass with bubbles in edges, what’s wrong?

For this situation, they are two reasons:

1) It’s too early to put the laminating glass out of the oven, the temperature is still very high and the EVA FILM is still melting and reacting. When the laminated glass is getting cold, the melted EVA FILM is contracting, and the EVA Film can’t fully fill the gap between two glasses.

2)  It’s too early to stop the vacuuming.

And the cross link reaction of the EVA film is not totally finished and stable. And also the silicon bag would suck same air back in to the bag, which cause the bubbles. So generally speaking, don’t stop vacuuming until the temperature of the laminated glass is lower than 45 degrees.

3) Always remember you put the wire net on the vacuuming hole to make sure the vacuuming is not stop by the laminated glass on the hole. To be more perfect, also can use wire net over the laminated glass.

I wrote an article Bubbles Solution for Laminated Class with EVA Film, talked about the situations that bubbles come out the laminated glass. It is macro views. Today I like to talk about the other reasons in micro views that cause the bubbles in laminating glass with EVA Film.

1. The plainness of the tempered glass is bad.

1) As you known, tempered glass is less plain than the flat glass. So you should choose a company that produce better tempered glass.

2) Since the tempered glass’s plainness is worse than flat glass, you should use thicker EVA FILM interlayer for the tempered glass. Generally speaking, the tempered glass should be laminated with at least 1.52 mm thickness EVA Film Interlayer.

3) Only laminate one layer “pre- laminated glass” in a silicon bag every time. If you laminate two or more layers “pre-laminated glass” in a silicon bag, the vacuuming would not work perfect and cause the bubbles.

4)  If you laminated small pieces “pre-laminated glasses” at the same time, put the “pre –laminated glasses” in good warp and weft, which will help vacuum.

2. Check if the silicon bag is leaking.

1) Averagely speaking, a silicon bag can be used for several years. But check the silicon bag if your laminated glasses have bubbles.

2) Check the concavo convex of the edge of the silicon bag is sealed perfectly when processing laminated glass with EVA Film.

Laminated Glass With EVA Film

Laminated Glass with EVA Film is much important  one in the series of laminated glass in glass industry .The processing principle of EVA laminated glass is  similar to most of the laminated glass . Furthermore, using EVA film to laminating glass does not require autoclave. All laminating processing will be finished and completed in one vacuum laminator.  EVA Film for glass has excellent transparency, outstanding adhesion and aging-resistance (more than 20 years), can be used for architectural glass, decorative glass with fabric.

EVA film:

EVA stands for ethylene vinyl acetate, a copolymer resin used in the production of laminated glass as the interlayer sandwiched between two pieces of glass. The main function of the interlayer is to hold the two piece of glass together, thus making them safer and more secure. EVA film is translucent and has a light pattern on the surface before heating. After heating, it becomes completely transparent, offering good visibility. In the production of laminated glass with EVA interlayer, no autoclave, roller press, air bag, or vacuum rubber ring is required. As EVA interlayer can be handled under normal climatic conditions, no clean room with climatic control is required.

EVA Film is made out of macromolecule material and it performs excellent in bonding strength, heat resistance, cold resistance, humidity resistance and tensile strength in laminated. It has been partly taking the places of PVB film in laminated safety glass, laminated art glass, laminated color glass.

-In the processing of EVA laminated glass, owing the ordinary glass with its green color, it will influence the original design effect.  However, using ultra-clear glass can have a excellent performance, it can make the interlayer fabric more clear.

-Processing Procedure Notes

1.)  Activate vacuum pump for 2-3min till the vacuum value reach 0.095Mpa, then start heating.

2.)The temperatures and times for processing based on 1Pc 5mm Glass +1Layer EVA Film + 1Pc 5mm Glass

3.)For thicker glass or more layers of EVA Film, the heat-holding-time should be longer, please check with “The Processing Parameter of Different Glass Thickness and EVA Film Layers” or consult us.

●Bubble

1.) The plainness of the glass is poor (especially the tempered glass). Make sure the inserted film is thicker than the deformation scale of the two overlapping glasses.

2.) The film has not completely melted. Please raise the temperature or increase the time of heat-holding!

3.) Stop the vacuum pump two early. Don’t stop the vacuum pump until the temperature bellows 50℃.

4.) The Silicon Bag is leaking. Please replace the Silicon Bag to unsure that the vacuum value reaches 0.095Mpa.

Attention

Please fully confirm the corrosive and permeability of the edge sealing reagent and glass glue before using, for those may lead to films breaking away from glasses!
